Stormward is a first-person VR tower defense game. Hop between floating islands, place towers where they'll do the most good, then hold the Core through 15 Waves of storm creatures.
Stormward is in beta: fully playable, and still growing. Found a bug or have an idea? Tell us.
Stormward runs in the browser with WebXR, so there's nothing to download and nothing to sideload.
On your Meta Quest, open the Browser app from your library.
Or open this page and press Play now. Pick a leaderboard name while you're there.
Look around the islands, choose a difficulty on your wrist and press Start when your defence is ready.
You're an invisible, invulnerable builder on a chain of islands above the clouds. Enemies walk right through you; your Towers are what stop them.
Push the thumbstick to aim an arc and let go to hop there, Half-Life: Alyx style. Comfortable, quick, and it works sitting down.
Grab a miniature Tower from your left wrist, aim the arc at a build square and let go. Point at a Tower to upgrade or sell it.
Towers on higher islands reach further. Hop up to a lookout to see the whole map and find the best spots.
During a Wave, light beams mark Powerups on the map. Hop beside one, or point and pull the trigger, to grab Overcharge, Freeze or Mend.
Walkers, Runners, Brutes, Flyers and Shielded enemies, mixed into tougher Waves, ending with a Boss. Send Waves early for bonus Shards.
Easy, Normal, Hard and Extreme, each with its own global ranking. Clear more Waves, keep more Core health and finish faster to climb.
Every Tower can be upgraded twice, and its last upgrade branches. Pick the path that fits your defence.
Fast single shots at ground and air.
Slow blasts that hit crowds.
Slows everything nearby.
Lightning that jumps between enemies and breaks shields.
Heavy spears for anything that flies.
Boosts the damage and range of Towers around it.
Low-poly islands, rope bridges and a crystal Core, built to run on a standalone Quest with no PC.

Each Run starts in Setup with 300 Shards and no time pressure. Build your first Towers, then press Start on your wrist. Between Waves there's a short Breather to build and upgrade, or you can send the next Wave early for bonus Shards.

Each player appears once, with their best Run, and you can also see it in VR from the menu (press Y) or at the end of a Run. Choose your leaderboard name on the game page before entering VR, or in VR from the menu (press Y). Until you do, you get a generated name such as "Squall Warden 427".
